TUNING KITS-FILTERS AND DIRECT ADMISSION
There are many doubts about the proper use and installation of the famous direct admission kits, one element that every good ” pear ” must have in your car or in your mind for incorporation into the car in the future. This guide attempts to shed light on those aspects most prominent of these kits worldwide fame.
In principle, and to the general belief, the kitdirect admission alone should not cause any significant increase in power in most cars, with respect to the standard intake system in perfect condition. We say in most systems because there are cars with more restrictive standard than others.
It is possible that if we put the car kit in places not conducive , as in many cases purely cosmetic , it absorbs the hot air filter which absorbed the original admission , so leading to loss of important engine performance .
On the contrary , if the intake kit is properly installed and cooler air absorbs that which originally entered the admission , so it does not represent any damage to the engine and may be that in this case it has a real increase engine performance. It is easily shown that approximately 10 degrees Celsius we get to lower the temperature of the air entering the intake , we get a productivity increase of 1%.
In today’s cars , The air intake systems for the car originally designed by the engineering team makes mark the amount of air needed, and temperature conditions favorable for optimum combustion at all times , and simply maintaining the original system ensures air supply more than enough.
A reform of the system original air intake is not as simple as a priori might seem , since the major reforms would be targeted at the intake manifolds . In other words, to improve cylinder filling at low speeds are required intake manifolds long and narrow , but this type of conduct restricts the filling of the cylinder at high speed because of friction with the walls. The original intake manifolds are designed so as to achieve a compromise between the cylinder at high revs , without harming or hurting as little as possible filling in middle and low revs. The variable intake gets almost completely eliminate these limitations.
In direct admission kits (and also in air filters sports supplied by the same brands ), the length of the filter element is very long , being able to clean up if required. That is an important asset and with proper care and cleaning on our part we have provided our intake system running almost 100 %. Furthermore, although we have noted that gains in power are not as many as we promise, it’s true that can we improve slightly the aspiration of the vehicle.
Sports Exhaust System
This reform is not intrusive,ie does not require opening of the engine,along with the optimization of the air entering the engine through direct admission kits,one of the first modifications to any fan of tuning done to the engine. And is that optimization of filling( enhanced intake systems )and the flue (exhaust systems improved) combustion chamber,is one of the first steps to take if we want to tune the engine.
One of the objectives of an improved exhaust system,and allows a slight optimization of flue gas combustion chamber is aesthetically enhance the exit or termination of the muffler,which in this type of leakage usually has a much more sporty and striking that the outputs of most number of cars. However,if all you intend to replace the muffler of the car,is an aesthetic improvement,it would be more ( and cheaper),install a termination or also called tailpipe,which will give it that sporty look.
